BJP MP urges people to promote khadi products

MP Bidyut Baran Mahato today stressed on the need to promote khadi products to boost local economy and improve quality of life in rural areas.

Inaugurating the eight-day long National Khadi and Gram Udyog (village industries) fair at Gopal Maidan here, Mahato said the attractive garments made by rural women is a testimony to the high skill levels.


Advocating the use of khadi in daily life, the MP said that khadi should be made mandatory in schools and hospitals.

The fair will provide an appropriate market for rural artisans from various parts of the country, Sanjay Seth, chairman of State Khadi Gramodyog Board said.

The objective is to generate self-employment opportunities, he said.
