Three masked robbers decamped with cash and ornaments worth several lakhs after taking hostage a property dealer, his wife and 10-year-old son at gunpoint in their house at Jagruti Crossing, Rajruppur locality under Dhumanganj police station in the wee hours of Sunday.

They also shot an obscene video of the property dealer’s wife and threatened to make it viral if he did not pay Rs 20 lakh. Senior police officials reached the spot and carried out investigation. A named FIR was registered against three people—Sonu, Ritesh and Sunil— on the complaint of the property dealer Hriday Narayan Prajapati.

SSP Anand Kulkarni said Prajapati was locked in a property dispute with the three accused and teams have constituted to arrest them.

As per reports, Prajapati heard the doorbell ring at around 5.30 am on Sunday. When he opened the door, three masked men took him hostage on gunpoint and dragged him inside the house. The trio then hit Prajapati and locked him in the kitchen. Thereafter they took his wife and son hostage at gunpoint and demanded keys of the almirah. They robbed jewellery worth Rs 6 lakhs, cash Rs 20,000 and documents of properties and vehicles.

In his complaint Prajapati alleged the miscreants then made an obscene video of his wife and threatened to make it viral if he did not give them Rs 20 lakh soon. The trio then locked the couple in a room before fleeing with the booty. Their son Priyanshu rescued them and called the police.
