Super 30 founder Anand Kumar’s KBC appearance draws lakhs of viewers

Patna The season nine episode of TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati, featuring mathematician and Super 30 founder Anand Kumar on the hot seat before megastar Amitabh Bachchan drew lakhs of viewers.
The episode, which aired early in September, got 6,798,000 impressions in terms of Television Rating Points (TRPs), Shashi Shekhar, a senior official of KBC production team said.
“It has been ranked the top programme in terms of TRP rating for both fictional and non-fictional category for the 36th week on the basis of the average rating across all original airings during the period,” Shekhar said.
Kumar, who appeared as a special guest on the game show, won Rs 25 lakh answering seven questions.
Bachchan also thanked a post from one of his fan accounts, which tweeted, “Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) ratings: Week 36 (2017); KBC soars up to 1 slot. The magic of @Bachchan continues.”
The “Sarkar 3” actor replied saying, “Oh. Did not realise this. Thank your world.”
In a statement from Super 30, Anand thanked the audience for an overwhelming response.
“It was very exciting to be on the hot seat in front of such a megastar. I thank KBC snd Amitabh Bachchan for the opportunity, which I will treasure forever,” the statement read.
Lost opportunity to study in Cambridge due to poor conditions of family, Kumar provides free food, lodging and education to students from economically-deprived families to crack the entrance test to India’s prestigious IITs and other engineering institutes.
Started in 2002, over 400 students from Super 30 have made it to different IITs so far.
