Two employees of the Municipal Corporation (TMC) were booked by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs one lakh for extending an official favour.

The duo--a clerk and a peon--allegedly sought the money for passing the application of the complainant who wanted to carry out repairs in his residence, said ACB police inspector Anil Honrao.

Both the employees are posted at Lokmanya ward office in the city.

The ACB registered a case under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 on receipt of the complaint against Anant Pawar (55), the clerk, and Janardan Patil (45), the peon.

The duo are not arrested yet and further investigation is on, the officer said.
