Mumbai: Five people, including two children, have died of dengue and leptospirosis this month. According to civic officials, over 1,700 people were hospitalised due to monsoon-related illnesses.
A nine-year-old boy from Juhu and a one-and-a-half-year-old girl from Dharavi succumbed to dengue on September 10. A 34-year-old Bandra resident was the third victim.
Leptospirosis killed a 24-year-old from Andheri and a 19-year-old man from Ghatkopar. Both the victims had waded through water.
