Prices of palmolein and cottonseed oils went up by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on persistent buying by vanaspati millers.
Castor and linseed oils in the non-edible section, also enquired higher due to increased offtake by consuming industries.
Traders said, increased buying by vanaspati millers due to rising demand from retailers amid restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to the rise in palmolein and cottonseed oil prices.
In the national capital, palmolein (RBD) and palmolein (Kandla) oils also advanced by Rs 50 each to Rs 6,050 and Rs 6,100 per quintal, respectively. Cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) oil also traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,450 per quintal.
In the non-edible section, castor and linseed oils too traded higher by Rs 50 each to Rs 9,300-9,400 and Rs 8,800 per quintal, respectively.
