Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah is likely to make a second visit to Puducherry in October to inaugurate the sprawling new party office being built near Indira Gandhi statue.

The two-storied building coming up in an area of around 6,000 square feet would be ready for inauguration next month.

Mr. Saminathan told The Hindu that Mr. Shah had agreed to inaugurate the building next month. “We are finalising the dates,” he said.

The party national president was here for a two-day visit in June and had held deliberations with the former Chief Minister and founder leader of AINRC N. Rangasamy, besides attending party meetings.

The BJP president’s second visit assumes importance as the party had set its sight on the Union Territory for a major expansion plan.
