Ram Rahim's close aide sent to judicial custody

Dilawar Singh Insan, a close aide of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was on Friday sent to seven days' judicial custody for his involvement in the Panchkula violence case.

The police yesterday arrested Insan from Sonipat.

On August 25, the Special (CBI) court, Panchkula, convicted Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a 2002 rape case, after which violence unleashed in and Punjab, claiming at least 36 lives.

The self-styled godman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Recently three-day long search operations were also conducted at Sirsa's Dera Sacha Sauda headquarter.
