Nitish Kumar and Sushil Modi.
With JD-U back in the NDA fold, the BJP is now focusing to strengthen its organisation at the booth level on all the 40 Lok Sabha seats ahead of 2019 elections.
Party chief Amit Shah on Thursday night held a meeting of BJP’s Bihar core group for the first time since JD-U leader and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar swtiched sides to continue in government with the support of the NDA.
Shah is said to have asked party ministers in the state and its leaders to stay connected with public and concentrate on appointing booth level teams keeping in mind 2019 elections. Shah will himself travel to Patna sometime in November to oversee preparedness on the ground and ensure better government-coalition partners coordination as the party leaders believes that the opposition’s electoral strength has weakened considerably with Nitish Kumar on their side.
The meeting was attended by among others, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, state party chief Nityanand Rai and Union ministers Radha Mohan Singh and Giriraj Singh.
The party is said to have taken a stock of the political situation in Bihar post JD-U quiting the grand alliance leaving only the RJD and the Congress to keep up the opposition space in the state.
