The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed the petition of a woman who lost the election to the Bidar City Municipal Council, reports DHNS from New Delhi.
A three-judge bench led by Chief Justice Dipak Misra declined to allow Muttamma’s appeal against the high court’s verdict of July 1. She argued she should be declared the councillor of ward No 33 as the candidature of the original winner, Kamalamma, was cancelled as she failed to prove she belongs to the ST. Muttamma came second in the poll.
