The All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen or AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has attacked the Bhartiya Janta Party-led government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Rohingya crisis.

Criticising the government over Rohingya refugee issue, the Hyderabad MP questioned that when the government can provide shelter to Buddhist refugees of Tibet then why it wants to send back 40,000 Muslim refugees from Myanmar.

Why United Nations cannot force India to change its stand on Rohingya deportation

"When Tibetan refugees, Tamil refugees can stay in India, why can't Rohingyas? Why the BJP government want to send them back," asked Owaisi while addressing a massive public gathering in Hyderabad on Thurdsday.

Mocking the government and its policies, Owaisi also questioned the stay granted to controversial Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen.

OWAISI MOCKS BULLET TRAIN PROJECT

Taking a dig at the launch of PM Narendra Modi's ambitious bullet train project, AIMIM chief said the BJP government at the Centre has misplaced priorities.

"Over 120 children died due to lack of oxygen in hospital (in Gorakhpur). We don't have money for oxygen to save our children and Modi is launching bullet train," Owaisi said.

The outspoken leader also slammed the government over poor health facilities and farmers suicide across the country.

"A few weeks ago Mumbai was under water for 12 hours, Mr. Modi instead of bullet train you should make bullet drain which is more required for Mumbai," Owais said triggering a huge cheer from the crowd.

ON PEHLU KHAN LYNCHING

The AIMIM leader also accused the Modi government of protecting those behind the brutal killings of Muslims.

"The Rajasthan government has dropped charges against six people who were named in Pehlu Khan's death. The state government and CID says that people named by Pehlu Khan before succumbing to his injuries were not present at the crime scene. It's a shame. The BJP government is openly supporting Pehlu Khan's killers," Owaisi said.
