Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. and Corporation Bank have bagged the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar.
Officials of KRCL and the bank received the award from President Ramnath Kovind in New Delhi on Thursday on the occasion of Hindi Diwas celebrations.
KRCL, though has just 2.7% of employees from Hindi-speaking States, has made steady progress in implementing Hindi in its various activities, said a release from the corporation.
Corporation Bank was awarded the second prize under the Nationalised Banks category in ‘C’ region for excellent implementation of the official language policy in its offices across the country.
The bank is also the convener of Town Official Language Committee, Mangaluru, constituted under the aegis of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The committee comprises 35 offices of the Union government, 18 offices of public sector and 30 banks as its members.
The bank takes Hindi to the masses through programmes like engaging students of schools and colleges in and around Mangaluru by arranging competitions, programmes and supporting their Hindi fests, said a release from the Bank.
