Hyderabad beat TNCA President’s XI by eight wickets on day two of the Kalpathi AGS all-India Buchi Babu invitational cricket tournament final here on Friday.

Hyderabad needed 125 runs off 70 overs with nine wickets in hand, and it took 36.4 overs on the day to finish the task.

The only damage, or scare if you may, that TNCA President’s XI caused was a run out. Opener Tanmay Agarwal (35, 78b, 5x4) failed to beat Malolan Rangarajan’s throw from mid-on to the non-striker’s end.

Rohit Rayudu (47 n.o., 100b, 11x4) and Kolla Sumanth (77 n.o., 115b, 11x4, 1x6) with an unbroken 113-run third wicket stand took Hyderabad home.

Sumanth was named the player of the tournament.

He had hit a half-century in his team’s semifinal win over UPCA, and scored a ton against TNCA XI in the round-robin game.

The scores (final, day two): TNCA President’s XI 200 in 56.1 overs lost to Hyderabad 201 for two in 56.4 overs (Tanmay Agarwal 35, P. Akshath Reddy 30, Kolla Sumanth 77 n.o., Rohit Rayudu 47 n.o.).
