The Hindu Tamizh, a publication from The Hindu group, to mark the entry of the paper in to its fifth year launched Yaadum Thamizhe, an event to celebrate Tamil and expose youngsters to magnificence of Tamil as they gear up to modern future. The event united people with one intersection- Tamil.

The event was launched with a 108 artists performing Nadaswaram from various parts of Tamil Nadu, and followed by Karakaatam.

In his speech, Judge V Subramanian of the Hyderabad High Court, highlighted the strong bond The Hindu group had with the judiciary. He said Tamil Hindu being the youngest publications should have a great responsibility in following the footsteps of its parent organisation in journalism.

Actor Kamalhaasan in his brief speech highlighted the importance of the agriculture sectors, and moderated a panel discussion on various issues that’s affecting the sector.

Hindu Thamizh distributed Thamizh Thiru to distinguished personalities from five different fields. The awardees were - Ira Mahadevan, K Raja Narayanan, Subha Arumugam, Prabha Kalvimani and N Valarmathi.
