Mumbai: The Mumbai Police are working on issuing an advisory to city schools in the wake of the murder of a seven-year-old boy inside a school toilet in Gurugram.
Mumbai Police Commissioner Datta Padsalgikar said, “It will be for the security of children, and if any school is found violating the advisory, action will be taken against them.”
The top cop said they will need around one week to prepare the advisory. “We will be asking all private, BMC, and trust run schools to follow it. They will have to provide the police with all the information related to their staff including bus drivers, watchmen, teachers, and parents. We do not want an incident like the one in Haryana to be repeated here.”
According to a list drawn up by the police, there are over 1,500 BMC schools and around 2,182 private schools in the city. “After the police advisory is issued, all these schools will come under the scanner,” said a police officer.
