Activists protesting against BMRCL’s decision to relocate the Cantonment Metro station about 600 metres away from the Cantonment Railway station, met Union Minister Ananth Kumar and officials in Delhi to register their opposition.

“The minister was convinced by our demand for locating the Metro station next to the railway station. He also arranged for a meeting with Union Minister for Urban Development where our plea was given a hearing,” said activist and urban transport expert Sanjeev Dyamannavar, who travelled to New Delhi to make his case.

The Urban Development Minister has directed the joint secretary, MoUD to visit Bengaluru and study the situation and submit a report soon so that quick action can be taken, he added.
