Woman shares stomach-churning video of maggots-infested Ferraro Rocher chocolates that she ate

A US woman has shared photos and videos of live maggots crawling all over Ferraro Rocher chocolates on Facebook giving the creeps to everyone who saw them.

Rachael Vile from Illinois said every piece of the chocolates inside the box of Ferraro Rocher had maggots on them. It was only after she had eaten half of the chocolates her roommate told her that she had found the creepy crawlies on them.

In the video, Vile can be seen unwrapping the golden wrapper of the chocolates one after another only to find maggots crawling on all of them. She said the chocolates were supposed to expire on March 6, 2018.

“Never eating these again!!!! This is what my roommate and I found. Maggots in every single one. Ferraro Rocher what the hell?!? I always bought these but this whole thing and I already ate half!?!? My roommate caught it. I’m never buying from this company again. Share this so people are aware. Please!!!,” she wrote on her Facebook account on September 1.

Her post with the sickening photos and videos has been shared extensively on social media, with more than 750,000 Facebook users sharing her post.

Vile later updated the post, saying the France-based luxury chocolate maker contacted her to resolve the issue.

“We take every consumer issue seriously and are already in contact with the consumer to investigate this matter fully,” a Ferrero Rocher spokesperson was quoted as saying by MailOnline.

“We would like to reassure everyone that at Ferrero, we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and have strict quality control procedures in place throughout our operations. Our products need to be stored carefully to preserve their characteristics and we advise specific storage conditions on the product packaging and on our Ferrero Rocher website,” the spokesperson added.
