The great Indian bullet train dream kicked off today with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his guest Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe launching the ambitious Ahmedabad-Mumbai high speed train project in Ahmedaba.

PM Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe laid the foundation stone of the project which is expected to be completed by 2022 at an estimated cost of Rs 1.10 lakh crore. | WATCH LIVE

The train would cover the distance of over 500 km in around two hours. Japan has extended a soft loan for the ambitious project conceptualised by PM Modi.
