Due to the unreasonable whims of the landlord, the grieving family had to keep the body of their son out on the verandah, while it rained heavily.
In what can be best described as far removed from humane behaviour, a landlord barred his tenant family from bringing the dead body of their 10-year-old son inside the house.
The shocking incident happened in Hyderabad's Kukatpally Housing Colony, where a house owner refused his tenants to bring the dead body of their son, who died of dengue inside, due to his superstitious beliefs.
According to landlord Jagdish Gupta, the body of the 10-year-old was a harbinger of bad luck and he didn't want any bad omen to descend on his family, since his daughter has just gotten married.
Due to his unreasonable whims, the grieving family had to keep the body of their son out on the verandah, while it rained heavily.
It was only after the neighbours saw this and collected money from other residents of the society and got the body cremated did the family move back in to the house.
Meanwhile, child rights organisation Balala Hakkula Sangham has demanded action against Jagdish Gupta.
