SAD is battling for 'existence': Jakhar

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has "desperately been battling for its existence", chief Sunil Jakhar said today.

"The SAD-has no issue to be raised and has desperately been battling for its existence," Jakhar said lambasting the SAD-combine for "exploiting" the sensitive issues and "misleading" people to get "political mileage".

As all sections of the society had rejected SAD-combine out-rightly, it had to face the worst ever defeat during the recently concluded Assembly polls, he said.

"During its 10 years misrule, no development activity had taken place, hence they tried to played the emotive issue of the Satluj-Yamuna Link but the people of the had shown maturity by teaching SAD-a lesson for its misdeeds", said Jakhar.

It seemed that the SAD-had even lost faith in PM Narendra Modi that is why it had been opposing meeting of the chief minister with the Prime Minister, he said.
