A romance with nature

A perfect weekend for me is one without a plan. It mostly depends on my mood. Sometimes I like chilling at home and being with family. At other times, I like moving away from the concrete jungle and exploring new places.

If I am in the city, the day starts with a comforting breakfast and a nice cuppa tea. When I’m not just watching movies or enjoying my music, I sit and chat with my mother and update her about whatever is happening at my end. Enjoying home-made food and ‘panipuri’ and ‘pizza’ made by my mother are a big part of my weekend.

On Fridays and Saturdays, I go with the flow but on Sundays, the entire family gets together. The kitchen will be closed then and we either order in or dine out. My brother comes home with his family and I look forward to spending time with my ‘biggest fan’ -- my four-year-old niece Avani. We have pillow fights and play hide-and-seek, and I never notice how time flies when I am with her.

Apart from family, I also like to spend time with my friends. I love spending time with my close friends Sweta and Kavita. I met Sweta during my 10th standard tuitions and we have stayed in touch since. We love spending time at cafes and eating to our heart’s content at restaurants. We often hang out at ‘The Heat’, ‘Central Cafe’ and ‘District 6’.
Sweta is my stylist now, so we all sit and discuss about the latest fashion trends and styling tips.

Gayatri, my 2-am-friend and confidante, with whom I can discuss anything under the sun is another person I like catching up with. I am also close to actor Sindhu Loknath. She is the perfect definition of a tomboy and you cannot have a single boring moment with her. From dancing together to just bickering about anything, we are a great duo.

Something that I cannot skip even if I have a jam-packed schedule is my workout. I try to hit the gym as often as I can and spend an hour to 90 minutes, practising body combat skills. I lift weights apart from doing cardio exercises. I feel I’m a calmer person because of the dedicated hours I spend at the gym.

Dance is a big part of my life. In fact, dance is what brought me to the industry. I can dance for as long as I want to. When I am home, one would find me behind closed doors, listening to music and dancing away.

Travelling for me, has been a great window to the world. I have explored old architectural buildings in Portugal, admired the artworks at the Louvre Museum, Paris and spent time atop the Eiffel Tower with the same excitement. All my travelling experiences have gifted me with knowledge about the world.

I love being with nature as it has magical healing powers. I have explored places like Chikkamagaluru, where I stayed at a tree house and it was a lot of fun. I love spending time with animals too as it is very relaxing. I recently took to trekking and hiking and I liked the rush it gave me. Going to Bandipur and going on the safari is on my bucket list.

If I am out of the city on a film shoot and at a good location, adventure will be a big part of my plans. The beach and waterfront excite me. I love spending time at Goa’s beaches, just staring at each wave pass by. I love the high that comes with water activities like rafting, jet-skiing and parasailing. I have discovered a lot about myself when outdoors.”
