RJD chief Lalu Prasad's younger son and former deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav has refused to shift in his new 1 Polo Road bungalow, allotted to him by the Bihar govt after RJD lost power in the state. The bungalow till date was allotted to deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi which he held in his capacity as former deputy CM after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar snapped ties with BJP in 2013.

Tejashwi's 5 Desh Ratna Marg bungalow, which was allotted to him after he became the deputy chief minister in 2015, has now been allotted to Sushil Modi by the Building Construction Department. Upset with the move of the Bihar govt to allocate Modi's previous bungalow to him, Tejashwi had shot a letter to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, a fortnight back, making an appeal to allow him to stay in his present bungalow in his capacity as former deputy Chief Minister just like Sushil Modi lived in 1, Polo Road in his capacity as former deputy CM between 2013-2017.

According to sources, after the state govt has refused to budge from its position, Lalu's son has refused to shift in the new bungalow and instead would continue to live with his parents at 10, Circular Road, the bungalow which was allotted to former CM Rabri Devi in 2005.

JD-U leader Neeraj Kumar has taken a jibe at Tejashwi's decision not to shift in his new allocated bungalow but to stay with his parents saying that since he is a bachelor, living with Lalu and Rabri would keep him disciplined and under control.

"There are various corruption charges leveled against Tejashwi Yadav. Since he is single, staying with parents will keep him under check and disciplined. He should stop thinking about the bungalow and focus  on dealing with corruption cases going against him," said Neeraj Kumar, JDU MLC and spokesperson.
