Punjab's acting chief electoral officer today through video-conferencing reviewed the steps taken to ensure peaceful and smooth conduct of the Gurdaspur parliamentary bypoll.
The deployment of teams for election expenditure monitoring, video surveillance, accounting and media certification was reviewed, a spokesman of the Chief Electoral Officer said.
Formation of the monitoring committee, flying squads and statistical surveillance teams was also discussed, he said.
Senior police officials and deputy commissioners among others attended the meeting headed by Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manjeet Singh Narang, the spokesman said.
The bypoll to the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat will be held on October 11 and counting of votes and result will be declared on October 15.
