The Kerala High Court on Wednesday asked the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) to file a statement on the progress of investigation in the bar licence bribery case against former Finance Minister K.M. Mani.
The court passed the directive on a petition filed by the former Finance Minister against the Vigilance court's order allowing a plea for a further probe into the bar bribery scandal against Mr. Mani.
The Vigilance court’s directive came on a petition filed by Superintendent of Police R .Sukesan alleging that former Vigilance Director N Sankar Reddy had intervened in the probe in an attempt to give Mr. Mani a clean chit.
The court adjourned to October 4 the hearing on the petition.
