Staff questioned

On Monday, founding chairman Augustine Pinto (73) and his wife Grace Pinto (62), the managing director, had approached the HC seeking anticipatory bail apprehending arrest in the case.

Two officers with the Haryana police visited the Ryan International School premises in Kandivali on Tuesday morning. Sources said the officers reached the school around 11.30 a.m. on Tuesday and conducted inquiries with school authorities till around 6.30 p.m.

A Mumbai Police source said the officers are still in the city and might return to the school for more inquiries on Wednesday.

The Pintos’s counsel, Niteen Pradhan, had said in court on Monday that their son Ryan, the group’s CEO, had also filed an anticipatory bail plea.

However, Mr. Pradhan said on Tuesday that due to certain issues, Ryan’s application was not filed with the HC registry.

“Ryan’s application for anticipatory bail is in process and will be filed soon,” he said.
