While the murder of 7-year-old Pradyuman at Ryan International School in Gurgaon has shaken our conscience as a society, the father of a seven-year-old girl, who was sexually assaulted, murdered and burnt by his neighbour Dhashwanth in Chennai in February this year, continues to fight for justice.

The accused Dhashwanth is now out of bail after the Madras High Court quashed the Goondas Act against him. Usually, the police use Goondas Act against child sexual abuse perpetrators to ensure it gets difficult for them to come out.

Dhashwanth's father had engaged lawyer B. Kumar, who fought for Jayalalithaa in the disproportionate assets case, to quash the Goondas Act, citing that the chargesheet was not filed in 90 days. But it took 5 months for the post-mortem report to come out.

The dejected father of the seven-year-old girl says, "I am a broken man now. I don't know where to go for justice. My child went to play. This man took her away. First murdered and then burnt her. Tell me what should I do now. They are citing reasons of chargesheet and all that."

The girl's father, who wants to remain anonymous now, says that he wants justice. Reacting to the Ryan school incident, he said, "We send our children to school to play but they are not safe".

The father added, "I want other children to be safe. But they can't if Dhashwanth is out there. I have been let down now. I want justice. I am fighting for other children."

The father of a seven-year-old girl, who was sexually assaulted, murdered and burnt in Chennai, has almost despaired of finding justice after the culprit walked out of jail on bail.
