The Face ID is a new identification feature that will utilize Apple's new TrueDepth camera system to create "face data" for each user. This "face data" will allow you to unlock your phone, turn yourself into an animated emoji, and more.

Behind the Scenes with John Cena:

Apple revealed that, in order to perfect the Face ID feature, they tested its effectiveness against photographs of human beings, and even super-realistic masks designed to fool the technology. But what answer do they have for a man who can't be seen? We'll have to wait until November 3, when the phone is released, to find out.
