Liverpool have had the strangest start imaginable to their season. Whatever confidence they may have gained in the 4-0 win against Arsenal and the 2-1 win against Hoffenheim in the Champions League came crashing down when they capitulated to a 5-0 defeat to Manchester City. Sevilla on the other hand have been unbeaten in their La Liga campaign so far. This is only the second time in the past eight seasons that Liverpool have made it to the Champions League group stage.
