Inflation in August shoots up by 3.36 pc

NEW DELHI: The Consumer Price Index (CPI), which is commonly known as retail inflation went up by 3.36 per cent in August, 2017 in comparison to the same month of the last year.

According to the data released today by the Government, the current rate of inflation is the highest in five months, but it is still well below the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) medium-term target of 4 per cent. In July, 2017, the inflation rate had shot up for the first time in three months, when it rose by 2.36 per cent. (AGENCIES)
