India truly values ties with Japan, look forward to welcoming Abe, says Modi

Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday said that truly values its relationship with and he looks forward to welcoming Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and hosting him in for the fourth annual summit.

In a series of tweets in English and Japanese a day before Abe's arrival, Modi said he and the Japanese Prime Minister will attend a host of programmes to boost ties between the two countries.

"I look forward to welcoming PM @AbeShinzo. I will be hosting him in in our fourth annual summit together.

"PM @AbeShinzo and I will attend a wide range of programmes on 13th and 14th September 2017, aimed at further boosting India-ties," he said.

Modi said the two leaders will take part in the ground-breaking ceremony of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail project on Thursday.

"PM @AbeShinzo & I will attend the programme to mark the start of work of India's first high-speed rail project between Ahmedabad & Mumbai.

"I also look forward to visiting the Sabarmati Ashram & the 'Sidi Saiyyid Ni Jaali' with PM @AbeShinzo during his visit.

"truly values the relationship with and we look forward to further boosting our bilateral ties in a wide range of sectors."

Modi also posted pictures of Ahmedabad, including the Sabarmati river front, and said "Ahmedabad and are ready to welcome PM@AbeShinzo."

Abe will be on a two-day visit to beginning Wednesday during which the two countries are expected to scale up their strategic cooperation.

Abe and Modi will hold the 12th India-Annual Summit in during the visit.
