Japanese warship departs from Kochi

JMSDF personnel given a conducted tour of Anti-Submarine Warfare School

Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) ship Teruzuki departed from Kochi on Monday after a two-day port call.

Captain Masashi Kondo, Commander Escort Division Six, embarked on the ship commanded by Commander Seiichi Hashimoto, who had called on Rear Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Chief Staff Officer (Training) of India’s Southern Naval Command, when the vessel was in Kochi.

Atsushi Miura, Superintendent, Japan Coast Guard, and Commanding Officer of Somalia Dispatch Investigation Team, who was also part of the visiting delegation, had called on Commander of India’s Coast Guard district (COMDIS) 04 based at Fort Kochi.

The visiting JMSDF personnel were given a conducted tour of Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) School. JMSDF ship Teruzuki is on return passage to Japan after having completed her operational anti-piracy deployment along with naval units from Combined Maritime Forces, in the Gulf of Aden and North Arabian Sea.
