Leader of the opposition in the Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa on Tuesday said that if Chief Minister Siddaramaiah does not pay heed to the demands of the protesting MLCs, then the BJP will launch a massive protest against the government.

Eshwarappa, who visited the MLCs representing teachers and graduates constituencies in front of the Gandhi statue in Vidhana Soudha, said Siddaramaiah should intervene by Wednesday and ensure that the legislators withdraw their protest.

Leader of the opposition in the Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar, who also met with the MLCs, said that if the matter escalates and leads to a law and order problem, then the government would be held responsible for it.

JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda also went to the protesting site and listened to the woes of the MLCs who are protesting on behalf of the teachers and student community.
