New taluk formation to be over by January 10

Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa said the process of creating 49 new taluks in the state will be completed by January 10 next year.

Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, he said the new taluk formation process has been started. But a lot needs to be done, including the appointment of tahasildars and the required infrastructure. The issue will also be discussed in the assembly session soon, he added.

When asked about cloud seedling, he said it is under way in two districts in the state including Gadag. It will be done even in other parts of the state depending on circumstances, he added.

Referring to the issuance of title deeds to Bagair Hukum cultivators, he said the eligible applicants will be given the title deeds soon.
