Copper futures gain 0.24 pc on spot demand

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Copper prices moved up by 0.24 per cent to Rs 437.10 per kg in futures trade today as traders widened bets buoyed by firm spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in February rose by Rs 1.05, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 437.10 per kg in a business turnover of 32 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in November traded higher by 95 paise, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 432.05 per kg in 839 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in copper futures to raising of bets by participants on the back of a firm trend in base metals at the domestic spot markets due to high demand from consuming industries.
