The artistes finalised for performing in the backdrop of the illuminated Mysuru palace during Dasara are sure to entertain all kinds of art enthusiasts.
The cultural events are much sought after among connoisseurs of music and dance. The Dasara Festival Committee has tried to bring together popular forms of art — Carnatic, Hindustani, folk, Sufi, Ghazal, Bharatnatyam, Kathak, and Odissi, among others — to entertain the crowds this time.
“All top artistes have confirmed [participation]. Barring minor changes, the list is 95% ready,” said Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep, who is also the Dasara special officer.
The Dasara cultural events will be held in five places — the palace, Jaganmohan Palace, Kalamandira, Town Hall, and Veene Sheshanna Bhavan — from September 21 to 29. At the palace, the programme will conclude on September 28.
According to the organisers, artistes of national and international repute, and State and local artistes have been accommodated for the event at the palace.
Dasara deputy special officer P. Shivashankar said all big names in music and dance will be performing after 8 p.m. every day.
