Embassy Group, a real estate developer, hosted the fourth edition of 'Embassy Pedal for the Planet' at Embassy Springs, Bengaluru’s largest integrated masterplanned city.

Around 800 cycling and fitness enthusiasts of all ages along with corporates turned up early on Sunday morning to pledge for a greener planet and promote a healthy cycling culture in the city.

For this edition, Embassy Group tied up with Bangalore Bicycle Championships (BBCh) that has been conducting races in Bengaluru over the last six years. The event had several categories of races which drew a good response and were intensely competitive.

The different race categories included ProElite covering a distance of 40 km, a 25 km Amateur ride, and a fun ride of 15 km, 8 km and 1 km. Among the race categories was the CXO Race, which saw participation from CEOs and CXOs across leading MNCs in Bengaluru.

Aimed at promoting green living, Embassy Pedal for the Planet has drawn positive attention from the citizens of the city. All proceeds raised at the event will be donated to Colours of Life, a non-profit organisation that works with the Embassy Group to support over 4,000 children through holistic education initiatives across 15 government schools.

The Raghu Dixit Project, one of India’s most exciting live acts, staged a performance post the races. Additionally, there were food trucks, a lounge bar, kids games, amongst other fun activities, making it a fun Sunday morning for everyone.

Jitu Virwani, Chairman and Managing Director, Embassy Group said, “Embassy Pedal for the Planet blends fitness and eco-social responsibility with a lot of fun. We work towards a strong vision for a green future and it is delightful to see the great turnout and zeal of the participants. As responsible citizens, we have taken up this pioneering initiative as it epitomises Embassy’s continued commitment to sustainability and green living. Making this an annual event, we are sure ‘Pedal for the Planet’ will bring about a change and encourage people to promote a healthy culture of cycling as our daily commute.”
