The commerce and industry ministry is organising a state startup conference tomorrow to deliberate on issues including incubation facilities and making regulations easier for budding entrepreneurs.
A framework for ranking states and Union Territories on the basis of initiatives taken by them to promote startups will also be discussed, the ministry said today in a statement.
The move is expected to provide momentum towards building a positive startup ecosystem in states.
It said the discussions will centre chiefly on four important themes related to key components of the startup ecosystem -- governance reforms to be undertaken by states; incubation facilities in India and role of states in developing them; role of states in setting up funds and making regulations easier for them.
The conference will be attended by senior functionaries from states, Union Territories, incubators, accelerators, funding agencies, VCs, angel investors and startups.
