Streaming service Amazon has decided to cancel its F Scott Fitzgerald-based series, "The Last Tycoon", after a single season.

The nine-episode first run starred Matt Bomer as Monroe Stahr, a hotshot Hollywood studio executive in the 1930s desperately trying to get a movie made about his late wife while struggling with his mentor, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Kelsey Grammer and Lily Collins also starred.

"The Last Tycoon" was based on Fitzgerald's unfinished novel of the same name. The series began streaming on July 28, though it received mixed critical reviews.
