picture perfect: The 360-degree photo feature on Facebook is quite popular among youngsters.
In an era where social media is nothing less than a virtual lifeline, we have different platforms that keep us hooked on.
At a time, when social media sites are coming up with innovative features to stay ahead of the race, Facebook too is experimenting with new features to woo the audience.
The latest feature lets one capture 360-degree photos using the Facebook app. These pictures can later be used as cover photos and share one’s instant memories with the world.
Excited about this new feature, some Bengalurueans share their experiences and talk about how this feature is useful.
Chandan Raju, a design engineer, says that this feature helps one share real-time memories of a particular day or moment which can be quite pleasing to the eyes.
“One can portray exactly what their eyes can see. And since most people get attracted to an image which is interactive, the 360-degree photo feature is soon going to be a big hit.” says Chandan.
Dhanush P, a student agrees that it is an interesting addition to the already interactive platform.
“One can upload their entire trip and show all the destinations they have visited. Unlike a regular photograph, the 360-degree photo option allows even the photographer to be a part of the moving image and also share his point of view or a moving reaction to a moment,” says Dhanush.
Amused by the new feature, Chandan also points out that Facebook keeps updating its features and each time it has something interesting to provide its audience. This feature has come as a blessing, especially for travellers.
Panning the camera at a 360-degree angle can show one the entire surrounding, giving the viewers a chance to have a glimpse of a particular destination.
“Not everyone can afford to go to exotic destinations or travel to different places but with this feature, even they can have a look at different places from the comfort of their homes. It helps one to feel closely connected,” adds Chandan.
Reshma Mahesh, a homemaker, feels that this feature introduced by Facebook helps one to have a more realistic connect to the pictures uploaded by a friend or a loved one.
“The panoramic representation of a space, be it a live moment or a glimpse from one’s travel diary, one can get a wider perspective with clarity from all angles. One of my friends went to Goa recently and she used this feature to share her moments of her vacation.
It is definitely a fun way to share and upload pictures,” she says.
