4th Indian Open World Ranking Snooker Tournament from Sep 12

The 4th Indian Open World Ranking Snooker Tournament will be held here from September 12 , it was announced today.

Chief Minister will inaugurate the tournament, to be held till September 16, announced President of the Billiards and Snooker Federation of Capt PVK Mohan at a media conference here.


Four-time world champion and Scottish great John Higgins will be the star attraction of the tournament.

Stuart Bingham, Anthony Hamilton, Graeme Dott, Shaun Murphy, Ricky Walden, Mark Allen, Stephen Maguire, Luca Brecel and David Gilbert are some of the other big names who will take part in it, Mohan added.

According to Mohan, star Indian cueist Pankaj Advani has pulled out of the tournament due to "personal reasons".

Lucky Vatnani (Hyderabad), Pandurangaiah (Nellore), Asutosh Pady (Odisha), Malkeet Singh (Delhi), Laxman Rawat (Delhi) and Srikrishna (Chennai) are the six Indian wild card entries in the tournament and Aditya Mehta will feature in the qualifying rounds, he added.

The tournament offers a total prize money of ?3,00,000, and the winner will be richer by ?50,000.
