Stalin is misleading students by spreading false information about the test, alleges Thambidurai

Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Saturday said that “Amma’s government” would continue in the State.

Taking part in the birth centenary celebrations of former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran here, he said MGR and Jayalalithaa ruled the State for a total of 27 years. “Amma’s government has brought in plenty of schemes, and some people are jealous of those schemes. Tamil Nadu will be made a model State in the country,” he said.

Mr. Palaniswami also added that some persons were aiming for posts and positions that were “beyond their ability.”

Tie-up with rival

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam hinted that some persons were trying to join hands with a rival party.

“They are trying to form a mega alliance. People are desperately calling the parties to form a coalition. Steps are on to join hands with an ‘evil force’ against which MGR formed the AIADMK, and against which Amma went on to strengthen the party,” he said. The government led by Mr. Palaniswami is “Amma’s government and nobody can bring it down,”Mr. Panneerselvam said.

Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha M. Thambidurai said nobody can destroy the AIADMK. Opposition Leader M.K. Stalin was misleading students by spreading false information about the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.

“It was the during the UPA government, of which the DMK was a part, that NEET was introduced in 2012. However, the Central Board of Secondary Education delayed it by a year,” Mr. Thambidurai said, adding that the State government would never accept NEET.

Commercial Taxes Minister K.C. Veeramani, who has been vociferous in his opposition to sidelined leader T.T.V. Dhinakaran, said some persons were trying to destroy the party and topple the government.

“Whoever thinks of destroying the party will be doomed. They think that the priest can become God and this will never happen,” Mr. Veeramani said.
