International meet of inventors begins in Visakhapatnam

International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) president Alireza Rastegar on Saturday said innovations showcasing technological advances and out-of-the box ideas would shape of the destiny of a country and its people.

Inaugurating the three-day Second Indian Innovators’ Association (IIA) International Innovation Fair being organised by the AP Innovation Society (APIS), he said innovation had no borders and one could go anywhere to market his products by proving the uniqueness and cost-effectiveness of his products.

Sixty Indian and 40 innovations from USA, Poland, China, Germany, Korea, Lebanon, Egypt and other countries are participating in the exhibition, which was earlier inaugurated by Mr. Rastegar.

Complimenting APIS and IIA for holding the fair in Visakhapatnam, a promising city with lot of future, he said AP had taken the lead by forming the APIS to spread innovation culture.

IIA president A.S. Rao said a lot of requirement was required to encourage young students to become entrepreneurs so as to generate employment. He said proper ecosystem was required to encourage startups in a big way.

APIS CEO V. Valli Kumari said under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu they were laying emphasis on inculcating innovation culture among the youth. She said the government was also facilitating hand-holding for the startups by tying up with several premier organisations.
