Poison bottle seized from visitor at CM’s residence

The Guntur Urban Police and the Chief Minister’s security personnel recovered a poison bottle from a visitor, G. Srinivas Reddy, at the Chief Minister’s residence under Tadepalli Police Station limits on Friday.

A native of Proddatur in Kadapa district, Mr. Reddy came to Mr. Naidu’s residence along with his wife and two children.

Mr. Reddy said he had been making the rounds to the Secretariat in vain for the last few days to meet Minister Adinarayana Reddy, seeking his intervention for the return of ₹5 lakh he had invested in Keshava Reddy School. Mr. Reddy said his children were suffering from heart ailments and that he wanted to meet the Chief Minister for financial aid. Claiming that he had invested the amount five years ago in the school owned by relatives of a public representative, Mr. Reddy said he was making all efforts to get back the amount.

The police and personnel in the Chief Minister’s peshi made Mr. Reddy speak to Mr. Adinarayana Reddy, the Minister representing Kadapa district, said Guntur Urban SP Ch. Vijaya Rao.

“Mr. Reddy did not attempt suicide, but the security personnel, while checking the luggage, found the poison bottle and seized it,” the SP said.
