AIADMK regime has failed on all fronts: Stalin

The present AIADMK regime that has “lost its majority” must be ended to “save Tamil Nadu,’’ DMK working president M.K. Stalin said at Orathanad in Thanjavur district on Saturday.

Speaking at a public rally, Mr. Stalin claimed that the people of the State did not favour the current regime as it has failed on all fronts.

The ruling dispensation was dancing to the tunes of the BJP and the Central government.

‘Only a BJP government’

“This is no AIADMK government but only the BJP government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is responsible for first splitting and then re-uniting the AIADMK factions in the fashion of a kangaroo court,” Mr. Stalin charged. Claiming that he was from the backward classes, Mr. Modi was meting out injustice to the backward classes and several problems including the fishermen issue and farmers suicide have remained unresolved.

Now, the NEET issue has joined the list and the blame for the suicide of Anitha of Ariyalur squarely rested with the BJP and the AIADMK, he said.

With 21 of the AIADMK MLAs giving it in writing to the Governor that they had lost faith in Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and the DMK-led Opposition commanding a strength of 98 MLAs in the Assembly, the State government has effectively been reduced to a minority.

“This government must go in the interest of the State, and the people of Tamil Nadu must be saved from the clutches of the current regime,” the former Deputy Chief Minister said.
