The enigma surrounding the sect chief’s dubious Gufa’s (caves) and the ostentatious lifestyle he led inside is all set be unrevalled. Part of the sprawling sect premises is a luxury resort with dozens of high-end suites and villas. A titanic-look alike cruise ship is the facade of the Dera’s multi-storied luxury hotel inside. This wonderland of sorts inside the sect had giant replicas of the wonders of the world- Eiffel Tower to Taj Mahal. Inside were golf carts meant to ferry “guests.”
Gurmeet Singh had a personal saloon within the premises, said sources, adding that he had a few thousand designer dresses and shoes at his disposal. The rape convict sect chief had a penchant for caves. A motorable road leading to the resort has been given a cave-look. The place where Gurmeet Singh stayed also resembles a cave. It is this cave where he raped two women disciples. It is believed that one door of the girls hostels within the premises opened inside the sect chief’s cave. The premises has more than one swimming pool. One of these is designed in a guitar-shape and has restricted entry.
A vernacular daily, which sings paeans of the Dera chief as its mouthpiece, is published from within the sect. Despite the conviction of the sect head on rape charges for 20-years, the newspaper continues its ill-perceived loyalty to its master. The newspaper is widely circulated among the sect followers, who for long have preferred not do not dispose off the print as scrap eventually in the name of faith. The sect has a cricket stadium with flood lights.
Gurmeet Singh enjoyed a lavish lifestyle inside the sect. Flashy custom-made cars and bikes- Lexus, Mercedes, Audis and BMW’s- all were at his disposal. These high-end cars have jarring colors, just like the dresses he wears. Inside, he had his own personal Army of bouncers, “suicide squads” and armed men trained in combat, it is learnt. Singh took to Bollywood a few years ago to further aloft his “larger than life” image. On screen he would do the irrationally unthinkable- fly for lengths, toss up scores in a flick and even box elephants to inconceivable distances.
