Heavy rain likely in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal

The department today said that heavy rain would lash isolated places in Sub-Himalayan districts of West Bengal, while the southern districts of the state are likely to receive scattered rains.

The weatherman said that all the districts in Sub-Himalayan are likely to receive isolated heavy rains till the morning of September 11.


Jalpaiguri in the region received 83 mm rainfall during 24 hours till 8.30 AM today, while Coochbehar got 26 mm of precipitation during the period.

The southern districts comprising Gangetic are likely to receive scattered rains in the next three days.

High relative humidity during the day affected people in the southern districts, including the metropolis.

There was no rainfall in or any other part of Gangetic during the 24 hours till 8.30 AM today, the department said.
