Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Chana prices rose further by 0.26 per cent to Rs 6,185 per quintal in futures trading today as participants engaged in widening their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on strong demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in October month went up by Rs 16, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 6,185 per quintal with an open interest of 32,790 lots.

The commodity for delivery in September contracts gained Rs 14, or 0.23 per cent to Rs 6,123 per quintal in 6,690 lots.

Analysts said raising of bets by traders, taking positive cues from spot market on surging demand amid pause in arrivals from producing regions mainly kept chana prices higher at futures trade.
