Opening day of Haryana leg saw Gujarat Fortunegiants, UP Yoddha, Haryana Steelers and Patna Pirates share points. In the first match, Pardeep Narwal’s late surge helped Patna Pirates bounce back and level things before the referee blew the final whistle. Trailing 16-32 at one point, Patna captain kept his nerves until the dying moments. While Pardeep brought up his seventh Super 10 of the season, his performance helped his side escape from the jaws of defeat. Haryana, on the other hand, can blame themselves for the goof-up. However, the second match between Gujarat Fortunegiants and UP Yoddha was an evenly fought contest. While Gujarat need to fix their fortunes, UP Yoddha showed never die spirit as their captain Nitin Tomar didn’t let the game slip from their hands. Fazel Atrachali’s recent performance will concern Gujarat as their hopes of making it to the playoffs rely on their Iranian duo of Fazel and Abozar.
