A 50-year-old departmental store owner was fatally attacked inside his store in Gautam Nagar here, police said today.
Police said they were informed about the incident late last night after Sudhir Gupta found his father, Hari Om Gupta, lying unconscious inside the store with head injuries.
Sudhir had already taken his father to a hospital by the time police arrived. Hari Om was declared brought dead at the AIIMS Trauma Centre, police said.
They suspect that the attacker was a person known to Gupta. No cash or valuables were reported to be missing.
A large amount of cash locked in a vault was found intact, police said.
