After losing Kraigg Brathwaite, Kyle Hope early, West Indies stood back on Kieran Powell and Shai Hope’s partnership as the visitors concluded Day 2’s proceedings at 93/3 in the third Test at Lord’s. In his 75-ball 45, Powell hit eight fours as he helped WIndies take a 22 run lead. While the visitors were on a smooth track, England’s highest wicket-taker James Anderson struck in the third session to end Powell’s innings. On course, Anderson, also, became the sixth bowler to take 500 Test wickets and joined the likes of Muralitharan, Warne, Kumble, McGrath and Walsh. Earlier, Ben Stokes followed his bowling masterclass with a half century and Stuart Broad blazed away for a vital 38 as the hosts took a 71-run first innings lead on the second day. Hope and Chase will begin Day 3’s proceedings for the visitors as they look for a historic series win over England.
